The Dental Foundation of Oregon makes grants to address our mission: "Improving oral health for Oregon's children." These grants aim to address the following funding objectives:

• To provide emergency dental care for children who are disadvantaged and do not have access to care. Projects that demonstrate local support, including volunteer time contributed by dentists and other health professionals, will receive preference.
  
  
• To prevent dental disease through support of programs that provide dental health education to the community and to assist children and low income families to access dental health care. Special attention will be given to projects that teach children and parents the benefits of preventative dental health care, i.e. dental hygiene, fluoride supplements and baby bottle tooth decay syndrome.

The Foundation distributes approximately $90,000 annually. Grant amounts do not normally exceed $5,000 each.

FUNDING CYCLES

The Dental Foundation of Oregon has two funding cycles. Complete applications must be received (not postmarked) by The Dental Foundation of Oregon on or before the following dates:

• Spring Grant Cycle
  Applications accepted from March 1 through March 15, 2009. Spring Grants will be awarded in June 2009.
  
  
• Fall Grant Cycle
  Applications accepted from August 1 through August 15, 2008.
  Fall Grants will be awarded in November 2008.

APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED PRIOR TO OR AFTER THE ABOVE NOTED DATES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.

GRANT RECIPIENTS

Each year, the Dental Foundation of Oregon supports a variety of worthwhile community dental programs. By funding these programs and endeavors, we are able to provide dental care to children in need throughout the state.

GRANT EVALUATION

The Dental Foundation of Oregon requires grant recipients to submit two grant evaluations annually. These evaluations are submitted at five and nine months post receipt of award. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view and print the following document.
