#12 East Sutherlin Primary
March 18, 2013 by Mary Daly

The principal at Sutherlin East Primary, Mrs. Foley, and the principal at Sutherlin West Intermediate, Mr. Freeman helped escort students to and from the Tooth Taxi, which was parked at Sutherlin's East Primary School in Douglas County.

An unusually high number of Sutherlin students were not interested in the cartoons displayed above our patient chairs. However, Dr. Moffitt kept our patients entertained during their appointment with an excellent display of his story telling skills, from personal experiences with kittens to classics such as Goldilocks.

Dr. Tim S. Murphy, Hygienist, Sheila Boerste, assisted
High school students from across the street helped escort kids to the Tooth Taxi.

Teachers!  Lots of teachers toured the Tooth Taxi.  Mrs. Karen Waters, kindergarten teacher and OEA Region III Vice President, tried out the dental chair for comfort.  Mrs. Waters also sent out a personal invitation for the teachers to visit the Tooth Taxi after school got out on Friday. About ten teachers stopped by after the invitation. They were all appreciative of the treatment we had done for their students and they were impressed by Catherine's classroom presentations.

From the kid gallery:
One student flashed a big grin after exclaiming, "I have not brushed my teeth my whole life and my teeth look like this."

A student listening to a classroom presentation asked, "Where is your sweet tooth?"

Other notes:
73% of students screened needed treatment (we will return to this school for additional treatment)
27% needed no treatment.
