#34 Portland, Roosevelt High School
October 13, 2014 by Mary Daly

Roosevelt High School in Portland has a very large and diverse student population. But as we've discovered, sometimes it's hard to give away free dental services especially at middle and high schools. Students either have had dental care, are embarrassed that they need it, are fearful, or it's just not their priority. Thanks to school nurse, Nicky Zimmerman, who worked hard to recruit students, reaching out to families at the back-to-school parent night. And for the students who did sign up? They were lucky to receive services from Dr. Carneiro and volunteer hygienist Chris Brooks.
