Tillamook's East Elementary was all ready for us on our arrival. Kim Seidel, Dean of Students and her parent helper made the screening process quick and organized. East is home to 4th-6th graders, so nice to have the older kids to interact with.
Dr. Carneiro was able to save a number of permanent 6 year molars from needing extractions or root canal therapy in the future. Several students had large cavities in their molars. It is a great feeling to be able to address these issues early on and help students retain their teeth.
From the kid gallery:
Student: 'Are you going to do that shot thing?'
Catherine: 'Yes we have to put your tooth to sleep,'
Student: 'Ok good now I can slap my face and not feel it.'
50% of students screened needed treatment
50% needed no treatment.
