#4 Helensview Alternative High School-Portland
January 26, 2015 by Carrie Peterson

Our first visit to Helensview Alternative High School in Portland was met with some unique challenges. Students here don't have a set daily schedule which means they may show up at 9:00 am one day and 1:00 pm the next making it difficult to put together a daily schedule. The staff here were great. They worked very hard at recruiting students as they came in the building, keeping us busy with students who needed work in the dental chair. We were also very fortunate to have Nicole Wear, RDH with us this week providing cleanings. The students were very appreciative of all services they received.

Nicole Wear, RDH

Other notes:
67% of students screened needed treatment
33% needed no treatment.
